Hello Everyone,

We just got some few hours into the New year and I know everyone is as excited as I am. A lot of people have made resolutions that they hope to keep. I will like to say the best thing anyone can ever hope for in the New Year is to have a better relationship with God. Talk to God more and you will notice the difference in your life.

My theme for the New Year is Matthew 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.

As you enter the New Year, endeavour to put God first in everything you do. Involve him in the decisions of your life and I pray as you do so, God will continually reward you. Amen

Happy New Year in advance and have a blessed 2013. See you in the New Year.

Merry Christmas not Merry Xmas

This an article I found really interesting and I decided to share. Enjoy.

Its CHRISTMAS not xmas. May l call the attention of everyone on a trend that l find to be a grave error in this generation. This is a seasonal error that comes at the end of every year. As we get into the season of Christmas, the regular greetings in the air is ‘HAPPY CHRISTMAS”. I have observed that many in writing or even speaking out this seasonal greeting now say, “HAPPY XMAS.

X is the 24th letter of the alphabet table representing a consonant sound. It is used to represent a vote, a kiss or represent a signature of someone who cannot write. Until 1990, it was used in America to indicate movies that cannot be shown publicly to people less than 18yrs.

X represents the figure 10 in Roman numerals as well as indicates something that is incorrect. It is also used to indicate somebody who is unknown or unspecified.

In the U.S, X can mean, “crossed-out” indicating that a matter is removed or ended. In mathematics,

X is used to indication multiplication or name for independent or unknown variable. X is commonly used as a generic mark (selecting an item on a form, indicating a location on a map, etc.).

Is it right to substitute CHRIST with X? Have you ever thought about this? Can someone tell me how Christ can be related to X and then can be inter-switched? Do you not think that this is an error we commit in our normal ways to find shortcuts to things? This is definitely a wrong shortcut.

The CHRIST of Christmas is not the one in xmas. In celebrating this season, the message is about CHRIST and let us takes all the time to fully express Him and the blessings of His birth.

Let us correct this error before we pass it on to our children, let them grow to know about CHRISTMAS rather than Xmas. MAY THIS SEASON BRING PEACE AND JOY TO YOUR LIFE AND HOME.MERRY CHRISTMAS once again and have a great day!

Good Tidings of Great Joy: The Birth of Jesus Christ

Let this be a time of remembrance, of gratitude, and a time of forgiveness. Let it be a time to ponder the atonement of Jesus Christ and his meeting of each of us personally.

We like the wise men of old should seek Christ and lay before him the most precious of gifts -a broken and a contrite heart.

The spirit of Christmas is a spirit of love and generosity and of goodness. May his precious spirit be with us and may he always be the centre of our celebrations.

With the pure love of Christ, let us walk in his footsteps as we approach the season celebrating his birth as we do so let us remember that he still lives and continue to be the light of the world. Amen.

Not Guilty by Mandisa with lyrics

Its Christmas and we are all excited to celebrate this season. Even as you celebrate this season, reflect on the reason why Jesus came to this earth. He loved us so much and couldn't watch us being condemned by sin so he came to set us free.

There is therefore now, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Jesus came to save us and not condemn us. The next time the devil tries to make you feel guilty, tell him "You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus". Jesus paid the price once and for all. If you are still living in sin, ask God for forgiveness, 1 John 1:9, Jesus is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As you celebrate this season, REMEMBER THAT JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Rumour has it that the world is coming to an end today, and it is so painful that some people actually believe this.

It confirms what the bible says about false prophets and teachers. We are warned against them, they are out to deceive even the very elect.

We are in the last days. 2Tim 3 talks about godlessness in the last days. Some people are out to deliberately deceive others and turn them away from the truth.

So we have to be careful, that is why it is essential to study the word of God. 2 Tim 2:15 says Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. If we study the word of God, there is no way we can be deceived because we know the truth.

A friend of mine told me last night that a woman willed her wealth to her Pastor, bearing in mind that she has a family. How can people be so easily deceived? This is so sad :(

I employ everyone by the mercies of God to watch and pray so that you will not be deceived. Thanks.

A Touching Story

I came across this on the internet, it really touched me, and so I decided to share.

I saw a cashier hand a little boy his money back at the mall, the boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'' The little boy turned to the old woman next to him, ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' She replied, ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.'' Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'

His eyes were so sad while saying this, 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.' Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.' 'I love my mommy and I wish she didn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll!'' OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said, 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!' Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.'' 'My mommy loves white roses.'

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine, and in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him. I hope this story touched you as much as it touched me. Even as you celebrate this season, don’t forget to put a smile on someone’s face.

Do not Judge.

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train's window shouted...

"Dad, look the trees are going behind!" The dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behaviour with scorn, suddenly he again exclaimed ... "Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn't resist and said to the old man... "Why don't you take your son to a good doctor?" The old man smiled and said ... "I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today..."

Every single person on the planet has story.
"Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you... Think before you say anything...!!!

We are like Pencils in the Hand of God

We have at one time or another bought a box of pencils for a particular purpose. When we buy a box of pencils, initially they are brand new, this reminds us that it wasn't long we were created by GOD. We bought the box of pencil because we needed it to achieve something. We have a purpose on the earth and like the box of pencils; we are created to fulfil a purpose.

In the box, there are other pencils too. Each pencil is unique. They have different colours representing the different race in the world, and it is easy to tell us apart.

Each pencil has a LEAD; the lead is the black hard substance inside the pencil. It is the most important part and it leaves marks on a paper. The lead represents our heart. Our hearts can be expressed in our words, actions, attitude, lifestyle and the way we relate with people. It is our heart that will determine our actions. It can either be good or bad and it can either leave a positive or a negative mark on people. It is what is in our hearts that determine the mark we leave. When we have the HOLY SPIRIT inside of us, he will help us determine the right things to do.

The pencil also has an ERASER that is located at the top. The eraser reminds us that we can make mistakes, and it gives us an avenue to correct these mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes and will like to have them erased. Our best work requires adjustments and updates; eraser gives us the power to adjust, edit and try again. It erases the past and helps us focus on what is next. The results of a second or third draft are almost always better.
JESUS is the eraser of our lives, we must realise that we have sinned and then we must ask him for forgiveness 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus will completely erase all our sins. Once a mistake has been erased, we try to correct it and do it the right way. We must make every effort to correct the mistakes in our lives and also learn from our mistakes.

One thing we must do is keep the point of our pencil sharp. It is not very useful when the points are dull. We need a SHARPENER to keep our pencil sharp. The BIBLE is our life’s sharpener. It is the word of God that can keep us sharp. We need to study the word of God regularly. 2 Tim 2:15 says we should study to show ourselves approve unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. When we study the word of God, mediate and live by it, our lives become sharpened.

When we draw on a paper, we guide the pencil to make marks on the paper, we need someone to guide us every day and that person is GOD. If we allow God to guide us  everyday, we will have positive impacts on everyone. Be Blessed.

JESUS, A FRIEND LIKE NO OTHER

Who understands us better than our friend Jesus? He sympathises with our weaknesses. (Heb 4:15). He came down in human form and was tempted in every way yet he endured for our sake. He suffered for us setting an example.

Do you know the pain of rejection, betrayal and denial from someone close to you? The greatest pain and injury comes not from our enemies but from our friends. It is painful that the people we expect to understand our situation and be there for us are the same people who are either the cause of the problem or the first to abandon us and leave us to our fate.

Most time when we go through tough times, we wonder “Where is Jesus in all these?” Does he really understand my circumstances? Can I trust him with my problems? These and many other questions come to mind. It is very difficult to go through challenges alone, we need the help of those closer to us, who understand us and can relate to our situation.

Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves. He understands us and sympathises with our weakness because he was tempted in every way. He went through everything that we are going through *He was tempted by hunger and poverty.* He was tired, sleepy and thirsty.* He cried over the death of a loved one, Lazarus (John 11:33) *He cried over his suffering, he was tempted to save his life *He was betrayed by his own *He was deserted by his loved ones *He was denied by his own and He was persecuted

Jesus was overwhelmed by his suffering, he understood the implication of taking the sins of the world on him- this meant alienation from God. He needed the support of his friends, so he took Peter, James and John to pray along with him. But instead of praying with Jesus and giving him the support he needed, they were sleeping. They were unreliable at that time. (Mark 14:32-42). How sad! L

During the Passover feast, Jesus told his disciples about his betrayal and death. He said they will dessert him. The disciples were not pleased with this; they vowed to never dessert him (Mark 14:27-41) but as soon as Jesus was arrested, the fled (Mark 14:50). These were the same people who vowed to never leave his side. Jesus experienced the pain of being abandoned; his friends let him down when he needed them the most. Jesus has been in your situation before so he understands what you are going through.

Approaching people about our problems can be very difficult. Sometimes we may not have the confidence to tell our fellow believers in Christ or those close to us about what we are going through. It is a blessing having someone who understands us, who can relate to our situation because they have been there before, someone who knows us and can read our every thoughts even when you don’t have the words to express them, someone who will never leave nor forsake us, (Heb 13:5). He is Jesus, our great high priest interceding for us daily, (Hebrews 3:1, 4:14). We can always talk to Jesus, he knows and understands us. He will never condemn us. Whenever I pour my heart to Jesus, I always feel better afterwards. When you are faced with a problem, rejoice because Jesus has already gone ahead to provide a way of escape, (John 16:33).

For example, In Matt 14:22, Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go to the other side; he told them he was going to meet them. The disciples faced a storm; they were terrified and wondered what Jesus was up to. While they were being tossed by the wind, Jesus was on the mountain praying for them. Jesus met them right at the middle of the storm.  While they were terrified, Jesus was interceding for them. Jesus is our mediator (1Tim 2:5), pleading on our behalf and the Holy Spirit is also busy interceding for us (Rom 8:26). With our best friend Jesus and the Holy Spirit pleading on our behalf to the father, there is absolutely no problem in our lives that cannot be solved.

So if you are facing challenges and you feel abandoned by those around you, relax and talk to your friend Jesus who understands you. He will not only listen to you but will also deliver you from that problem.

Don’t hate those who abandoned you during your trials. Jesus was betrayed, abandoned and denied by his own, he was persecuted by the priests, the teachers of the law and the people he came to save yet as he hung on the cross he prayed for everyone that the father will forgive our sins. Oh, what a loving friend!!!

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY (JOKE)

In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honour  How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honour, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fool’s Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day.
Court is adjourned..."
You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

Wrong Worship

Are we truly worshipping God in spirit and in truth? Some of us are going to church on compulsion, and others on special occasions like Easter, Christmas and New year. The few of us that still manage to go to church every Sunday go there to show off our clothings and accessories. We are not worshipping God genuinely. We can afford to fool other people around us but we can never fool God. He sees and knows our hearts.
God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth (NIV). John 4:24.

The fact is, true worship is not defined by a place, a feeling, or a ritual. We can worship God anywhere but what matters is that we should worship him in Spirit and in truth. This video is an example of how the modern day Christians worship God.

Tribute to the Aluu4 (Chidi, Lloyd, Tekena, Ugonna)

We Remember Them
At the rising of the sun and at its going down,
We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring,
We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer,
We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn,
We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember them.
When we have joys we yearn to share,
We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
We remember them
When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too shall live,
for they are a part of us, as we remember them.

I know My Redeemer Liveth

Many of us are familiar with the story of Job. We are quick †o say Job was a righteous man and he endured all the hardship. How many of us have actually sat down †o visualise what Job really went through? We know how painful it is when we have an injury on our foot or hand, it can even cause sleepless nights. Now, imagine Job losing all his children and properties and then having †o deal with boils all over his body, from his head †o his toes. I can't even begin †o imagine the pains he went through.

Many Christians expect life †o be so sweet, yes Job's life was very good initially but he had †o go through fire for his faith †o be tested.

Recently, I went through a lot, I even questioned God, I forgot about all those sermons I preached and how I told people †o always trust God, in difficult times praise him more. I didn't remember †o put those words in practice when I faced that terrible storm. But thank God I quickly repented of those words I uttered.I remembered the story of Job, even while he was going through a lot, his wife even told him †o curse God, yet he didn't. He said α very good word that I will never forget. He said I Know My Redeemer Lives. How many of us can actually say that when we are faced with difficulties?

How can our faith be strengthened if we don't go through trials and temptations. We need †o continually apply the word of God in our lives both in the good times and the bad. 2 Tim 2:15 says study †o show yourself approved unto God, α workman that needed not †o be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

We need †o be grounded in God's word so that when temptations come we can boldly say like Job I Know My Redeemer lives. Trials are there not only †o test our faith but also †o strengthen us. They are α stepping stone †o our greatness. They prepare us for the next level God wants †o take us.

I don't know if there is anyone going through α lot and you think that God has abandoned them, just trust God, his ways are not our ways. He will surely deliver you. Amen.
